Contractors in the Classroom: Steel
The Laird STEM Class was hard at work this morning learning about steel! Jason Beaver of Concord General Contracting taught the students about the different components of steel and how it is integrated into construction project, and then led the students in a very cool hands-on project - they made a steel bench! Students were broken up into small groups and each put together a small portion of the bench. At the end of the class, students worked together to fit all the pieces together. This bench, along with the other projects the students have worked on this semester, will be welded together and placed at the new Laird School. Thank you Concord for another fantastic day of learning at Laird.
