It is important for our children not to interrupt instruction by wearing
distracting or revealing clothing. Spaghetti straps, tube tops, shirts
with huge armholes (so the torso is exposed), very short shorts or t-shirts
with liquor ads or inappropriate words or messages are not appropriate
for school. Also, open-toed sandals may cause a playground hazard for
your child. We appreciate your cooperation in monitoring your child’s
dress.
Also, please properly mark your child’s jacket, sweater, lunch
box, etc. with your child’s full name so that these items are
easily identifiable. Students will be allowed to wear protective clothing
as deemed appropriate by the school nurse. For a hat to protect from
the sun, it must shade the face, neck and ears.
Some of the schools in the Tempe Elementary School District have more
specific dress codes, and some (Aguilar
School, Connolly Middle
School,
Fees Middle School, Frank
School, Intervention Learning Program, McKemy Middle School, Nevitt
School, Scales Technology Academy,
Thew School, Ward
Traditional Academy, Wood
School and
the
Intervention
Learning
Program) require uniforms. Please refer to your child’s school
for more information on the dress standards specific to that school.
