Post Date:04/26/2016 12:37 PM

Friends Helping Friends is a non-profit organization that continues to be the helping hand for the employees and retirees of the Tempe Elementary School District in times of financial difficulties due to catastrophic illness or hardship. In the last two years, they have provided more than $34,000 in assistance to custodians, office staff, instructional assistants, and teachers.

It is one of the agencies that people can donate to through Tempe Elementary’s annual United Way campaign. More than 97¢ of every dollar donated to Friends Helping Friends goes directly to these employees or retirees in need.

In addition to United Way, the largest fundraiser for Friends Helping Friends is the annual drawing, which will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 4 p.m. at the Landings Credit Union on Mill Avenue.

You can purchase tickets to the drawing for $5 each or 5 for $20 for a chance to win an exciting prize, such as gift cards to local restaurants, movie passes, cash, gift cards to Walmart, Albertsons, or Macy’s, spa gift cards, and more!
