Fuller Elementary School Achieves National Blue Ribbon Award
We are proud to announce that Fuller Elementary School is a recipient of the 2016 National Blue Ribbon Award and included into the highly revered community of National Blue Ribbon Schools.
Fuller is one of 279 public schools nationwide and one of only four Arizona schools to receive the National Blue Ribbon Award.
National Blue Ribbon Schools are public and non-public elementary, middle, and high schools that have produced outstanding results for all students. These schools demonstrate consistent excellence and progress in the area of student achievement. The National Blue Ribbon Schools recognition program is part of a larger U.S. Department of Education effort to identify and distribute knowledge about effective school leadership and promising instructional practices.
Fuller was one of five outstanding public schools that Arizona nominated for an “Exemplary High Performing Schools” performance award. Fuller became eligible for this award by being among the top 15 percent of schools in the state when ranked on the performance of all students who participated in the most recently administered state assessments in reading (or English language arts) and mathematics.
This ranking may also include assessment results in other subject areas and/or performance measures, such as attendance, completeness, quality, and accuracy by the U.S. Department of Education.
Since its inception in 1982, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has recognized more than 7,000 Great American Schools. This November, representatives from Fuller Elementary School will gather with other newly recognized schools for a ceremony in Washington, D.C., where their achievement will be officially honored by the U.S. Department of Education.
Fuller Elementary School’s continuous achievement and high standards are upheld thanks to the hard work and dedication of our teachers, staff, students, and parents. Fuller will receive a plaque and flag to signify its exemplary status and will serve as an example for other schools throughout the nation. Details of Fuller Elementary’s achievements will be shared on the U.S. Department of Education’s website.
