State Farm Hosts Holiday Musical Performance by Connolly Middle School Students
It’s the season of spreading cheer and being a good neighbor! State Farm at Marina Heights employees recently demonstrated their commitment to community involvement by inviting Connolly Middle School Jazz Band and Orchestra to perform holiday classics to their staff and employees.
State Farm employees gathered outside in the beautiful weather to enjoy their lunch and listen to our talented musicians, many of which were sporting festive Santa Claus hats.
First up was Connolly’s Orchestra who went through a medley of holiday tunes.
“We’re always looking for ways to increase the sense of community in Tempe,” said State Farm Philanthropy Analyst Kim McLain. “State Farm’s motto is 'Like a good neighbor' so we’re doing the best we can to be exactly that!”
Next up was Connolly’s Jazz Band. They performed a few holiday classics mixed in with some jazz flare as well as a little surprise for the State Farm employees. The band whipped up their own take on State Farm’s jingle ("Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there") which was a huge hit for the employees.
It was clear the students were having a blast as well.
“It was cool letting the community know how much fun we have in band,” said Seventh-Grader Zachary Transue, who plays the trumpet in the band. “Plus, I really love performing so I’m excited for any opportunity to do it!”
“I was really impressed with the performance,” mentioned State Farm Claim Specialist Jessica Secord. “I used to be in band, but I don’t remember being nearly as good as these guys. It was great having them perform for us, it’s a great reminder of what the holidays are all about.”
Congrats to Connolly’s Jazz Band and Orchestra on their excellent performances and thank you so much State Farm for having them.
