TAIS Eighth-Grade Teacher Carrie Wolfe Named Arizona IB MYP Teacher of the Year!
Congratulations to Carrie Wolfe, Tempe Academy of International Studies eighth-grade Language Arts teacher, for being named Arizona International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) Teacher of the Year awarded by the Arizona IB Schools organization!
Wolfe was recently surprised at an all school-assembly in which a select group of Wolfe’s eighth-grade students honored her for her recent award. Students began by coming forward to express a word that they felt described their teacher. Words such as “amazing, caring, talented, cheerful, thoughtful, and encouraging,” were all used to describe Wolfe.
“All these characteristics describe Ms. Wolfe,” explained Eighth-Grade Student Lilian Morales. “Ms. Wolfe is such an amazing teacher because she always puts her students first.”
“She always knows how to put a smile on everyone’s faces,” continued Eighth-Grade Student Kaitlyn Schmidt. “Ms. Wolfe, you are such a great role model and we are so excited to have you teaching us this year.”
Tempe Academy students then walked out with a large hand-made banner which proudly stated “Congratulations Carrie Wolfe – We Love You!” Tempe Academy Principal Denise Dunwoody also shared that all Tempe Academy students had signed the banner to congratulate Wolfe on her recent award. Dunwoody invited Wolfe to come forward and share a word of thanks to students who created the banner for her.
“Thank you so much for this wonderful surprise, I am so incredibly grateful to be with Tempe Academy,” said Wolfe. “The staff we have here are absolutely amazing and I love seeing you all every single day. Thank you for being so incredibly kind.”
