Meyer Montessori Hosts Annual Peace Day Celebration
To commemorate International Day of Peace on September 21, Meyer Montessori hosted their annual Peace Day celebration welcoming parents and guardians to their school. Students greeted their family members by singing a Peace Day song and shared their Peace Day projects which included poster research projects on famous peace leaders throughout history. Visitors were encouraged to ask students why they chose these peace leaders and about their impact.
“Peace education is something we instill and teach every day at Meyer Montessori,” said Principal Colleen Martin. “We thought International Day of Peace would be a great way for our community to be introduced to what our students are learning.”
After admiring students’ peace projects, parents and guardians enjoyed the wonderful fall weather with their student by sitting on picnic blankets and eating a mid-morning snack together. Thank you Meyer Montessori for creating a great event which the entire community could enjoy!
