Landings Credit Union Hosts Annual Christmas Tree Decoration
The holiday spirit was abundant on Wednesday morning at Landings Credit Union in Tempe, AZ where Nevitt Elementary students decorated the credit union’s two-story Christmas tree.
A yearly tradition that spans 25 years, the Landings Credit Union Christmas tree decorating event is something everyone looks forward to. Every year a different school is selected to participate and then every student in the entire school makes an ornament for the tree. Landings Credit Union provides the funding and Fine Art Coordinator Pat Burdette determines the theme of the ornaments. This year, the theme was “bugs and butterflies” and Nevitt Elementary second-graders were invited to place their school’s hand-made ornaments on the tree.
In addition to decorating the Christmas tree, Nevitt Elementary fourth- and fifth-grade choir students came together to sing holiday classics as Music Teacher David Makowski played the guitar. Landings Credit Union also hosted doughnuts and milk for all the students as a “thank you.”.
“We love this holiday tradition that we have with Tempe Elementary School District. It brings us so much joy,” said Chief Human Resources Officer Adrianne Rexius. “We would like to thank Pat Burdette for organizing this special event for us each year.”
