Post Date:05/04/2020

The following information covers details on returning district-owned property and picking up personal belongings left at schools. We will continue to keep you updated with any potential developments that could impact our families or schools. Notifications are sent through email, text, PeachJar, and on the www.tempeschools.org/coronavirus webpage. As always, if you change your email address or contact information, please be sure to notify your child’s school office of the change to ensure that you can stay informed. Thank you for your support of the Tempe Elementary School District.

Return of District-Owned Property

Tempe Elementary School District is requesting the return of all district-owned property that is currently being loaned to students for the 2019-2020 school year.

District-owned property includes ALL of the following: Chromebooks with charger, iPads with charger, classroom books, library books, text books, musical instruments, music books, athletic equipment and uniforms, and any other Tempe Elementary School District item that was loaned to families during the 2019-2020 school year. Parents of eighth-grade students, who currently have a Chromebook at home, will receive additional information regarding the opportunity to purchase the Chromebook.

All schools* will be hosting two drop-off day opportunities for families to return loaned items. Please bring all items that will need to be returned with you to your child(ren)’s school during one of the dates listed below.

  • Wednesday, May 13 from 8 - 11 a.m.
  • Thursday, May 14 from 2 - 5 p.m.

*Meyer Montessori will hold their drop off on May 13 from 9 - 10 a.m.

If district-owned items are not returned by the dates listed above, parents/guardians will be responsible for payment of the missing items. For families of eighth-grade students, failure to return District-owned property will result in no promotion certificate.

Due to health and safety guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Tempe Elementary School District leadership, employees will continue to follow COVID-19 prevention guidelines to further protect the health and well-being of our community. Employees will practice social distancing and will take recommended precautions such as wearing cloth face coverings and gloves when interacting with families during the district-owned property drop-off days.

If you are planning on driving to your child(ren)’s school to return items, please plan to have all items in the trunk of your vehicle so that staff can retrieve the items with no physical contact and maintain social distancing.

We appreciate your flexibility and help in returning district-owned property in a timely manner so that they can be cleaned and prepared for another school year of learning in the Fall!

Pick-Up of Personal Items
