Returning District-Owned Property and Picking Up Personal Items from Schools
The following information covers details on returning district-owned property and picking up personal belongings left at schools. Return of District-Owned Property
Tempe Elementary School District is requesting the return of all district-owned property that is currently being loaned to students for the 2019-2020 school year.
District-owned property includes ALL of the following: Chromebooks with charger, iPads with charger, classroom books, library books, text books, musical instruments, music books, athletic equipment and uniforms, and any other Tempe Elementary School District item that was loaned to families during the 2019-2020 school year. Parents of eighth-grade students, who currently have a Chromebook at home, will receive additional information regarding the opportunity to purchase the Chromebook.
All schools* will be hosting two drop-off day opportunities for families to return loaned items. Please bring all items that will need to be returned with you to your child(ren)’s school during one of the dates listed below.
- Wednesday, May 13 from 8 - 11 a.m.
- Thursday, May 14 from 2 - 5 p.m.
*Meyer Montessori will hold their drop off on May 13 from 9 - 10 a.m.
If district-owned items are not returned by the dates listed above, parents/guardians will be responsible for payment of the missing items. For families of eighth-grade students, failure to return District-owned property will result in no promotion certificate.
Due to health and safety guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Tempe Elementary School District leadership, employees will continue to follow COVID-19 prevention guidelines to further protect the health and well-being of our community. Employees will practice social distancing and will take recommended precautions such as wearing cloth face coverings and gloves when interacting with families during the district-owned property drop-off days.
If you are planning on driving to your child(ren)’s school to return items, please plan to have all items in the trunk of your vehicle so that staff can retrieve the items with no physical contact and maintain social distancing.
We appreciate your flexibility and help in returning district-owned property in a timely manner so that they can be cleaned and prepared for another school year of learning in the Fall!
Pick-Up of Personal Items
You will be able to pick up any personal items belonging to your student/s that were left in their classroom or school on Wednesday, May 20 from 3-6 p.m. This will be the only time the Tempe Elementary School District will be offering item pick-up. (Meyer Montessori pick-up will be on May 20 from 3-5 p.m.).
No parents or students will be permitted in the building, as your child's teacher will be the one packing up your student's belongings. Before arriving at the school for pick-up, please write your child's first and last name, grade level, and teacher's name on a piece of paper to hold up to your vehicle window or to show to a staff member upon arrival. A staff member will then bring a bag with your student's items to you. (If you come by car, at no time will you need to exit your vehicle.) If you have a middle school student, see the information below about which teacher's name to list.
Gililland Middle School students - First period teacher name
Fees College Prep students - Homeroom teacher name
Connolly Middle School students - No teacher name needed
Tempe Academy of International Studies students - No teacher name needed
