State Testing

Tempe Elementary Schools believe in a balanced assessment system. Each assessment has a specific purpose and role in ensuring student learning is on a positive trajectory

State Assessments

Per Federal and State requirements, AASA is administered to all students in grades 3-8, and AzSCI is administered to students in grades 5 and 8. AASA and AzSCI must be administered in person.

Every eligible student’s participation is important. The information from these tests can be utilized as a measurement to determine how academic instruction can be improved to meet the needs of our students - individually, in our district, and throughout the state of Arizona. For more information on state testing in Arizona, please visit the Arizona Department of Education's Assessment website.

Sample Tests

Sample tests for both AASA and AzSCI are available Through TestNav Arizona
(requires Windows 10 or higher if accessing from a PC). Click on “Mic Check and Sample Tests”; towards the bottom of the screen.

Student Results from Spring 2024 AASA and AzSCI

Spring 2024 AASA Student Score Reports were sent home with students during the first quarter of school this year. An email with instructions on how to access your Student Score Report online through the ADE Parent Portal was sent through Blackboard the last week of June 2024.

Grade 8 Spring 2024 AASA and AzSCI Student Score Reports were mailed in July to the address on file with Tempe Elementary Schools.

Student Score Reports for Spring 2024 AzSCI grade 5 were sent home with students enrolled in a Tempe Elementary school at the same time as AASA Student Score Reports.

If your student was enrolled in grade 3-7 in Tempe Elementary Schools in Spring 2024 and took state assessments, you can request access to your student score report through the District's Student Records Request process.
