Phoenix Zoo

The Phoenix Zoo opened in 1962 and is the largest 125-acre, privately-owned nonprofit zoo in the United States. Located in Phoenix, Arizona, just minutes from Tempe Elementary School District’s boundaries. Through generous donations the zoo provides and hosts free teacher workshops, onsite and online field trips, interactive outreach programs along with captivating animal experiences brought directly to the classrooms.
