The Facilities Management for Learners (FMFL) Department has gone through an amazing transformation over the last 17 years in how they deliver services to students and staff of the Tempe Elementary School District. The way we educate children was changing, curriculum was changing, our learning environments were changing, and they saw the need to change, too. They put the needs of students and staff first. They created work schedules that practically eliminated classroom interruptions. They embraced the change and came up with innovative ideas and services to make learning environments better. They brought a “can-do” attitude to work each and every day in support of creating the best possible classroom experience a student and teacher could have.

People have described the work and services the FMFL Department provides as “above and beyond” and “positive change” and “courteous and polite” and “wonderful, exemplary, and amazing.” They inspire excellence in those around them with the work that they do. The Facilities Management Department oversees building maintenance, construction and renovation projects, warehouse distribution, custodial and inspects school sites for safety and security.

Critical Maintenance Projects

Facilities Management is continuing with our mission to improve our school environments by replacing and upgrading building components.  Those components include items such as; HVAC chillers, cooling towers, and compressors, fire alarm systems, intercom systems, roofing, flooring, security fences, bleachers, painting, and electrical upgrades to support technology.  Also, the building exteriors have been weatherproofed and parking lots repaired and sealed.




Cooling: 74 to 78 degrees Cooling: 83 to 85 degrees
Heating:68 to 72 degrees Heating: 55degrees

If your classroom or office is below or above these standards, please have the custodian or office manager notify our office.
