Providing healthy meals is a top priority of the Tempe Elementary School District. Our dedicated staff prepares nutritious breakfasts and lunches at all of our schools every school day. 


This school year the breakfast program is free of charge for all students. Research confirms that students who eat breakfast have more energy, more focus, and fewer classroom behavioral issues. Removing barriers to eating breakfast supports the academic success of all of our students!  Students who come through the breakfast line and take a full breakfast meal will receive that meal at no charge.

This program is paid for by the Nutrition Services Department, which is federally funded and self-supporting. This program does not impact dollars going into the classroom.

An a la carte carton of milk cost of $0.50. Breakfast for non-students such as teachers, parents, and young siblings is available for $2.25



Student lunch prices are for $2.50 (Elementary) and $2.75 (Middle School).

Meal Charges for lunch accounts with insufficient funds

When students come through the lunch line but do not have enough money, they will still receive a regular meal of their choice and their account will be charged.  We will always feed a student. This will create a negative balance. 

Parents/guardians will be contacted for prompt repayment. Contact will be through automated phone calls from our mass notification system (1-855-344-6333). Notification letters will also be sent home with students in grades K-5.  Repayment of funds will first be applied to the negative balance before being applied to future meal purchases.  

Account charges will not be permitted for á la carte items such as milk, bottled water, or other single food items made available for purchase.


Payment Options: - Put money on a student’s account from home. is a convenient and easy way to deposit money into a student’s account with a debit or credit card, view lunch account balances, and establish a low balance e-mail alert.

Features to view the lunch account balance and receive low balance alerts can be used even if not using the deposit function.

There is no fee for you to make deposits or to use any of the features listed. You will need your child’s student ID#.  Register at:  For more information contact Simon Alaniz, Nutrition Services at

Personal Checks or Cash:  Make checks payable to the student's school.  Please add student's name to the notation line on the check, Place check or cash in an envelope with the student’s name, teacher’s name, and the amount enclosed in the envelope.  Monday morning before class is the best time to make deposits to accounts.

If a student transfers to another school within the district or is promoted to the next grade, money is transferred automatically.
