Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) are used to improve academic and behavioral outcomes, ensuring that all students have access to the most effective behavioral practices and interventions possible. PBIS provides a school wide framework for achieving these outcomes. PBIS is a decision making framework that guides selection, integration and implementation of the best evidence based behavioral practices and interventions for improving behavioral outcomes to ensure academic success in all students. 

PBIS/Positive Behavior se utiliza para mejorar los resultados académicos y de comportamiento, asegurando que todos los estudiantes tengan acceso a las prácticas e intervenciones conductuales más efectivas posibles. El programa PBIS proporciona un modelo para toda la escuela para lograr estos resultados. El programa PBIS es un modelo para tomar decisiones que guían la selección, integración e implementación de las mejores prácticas de conducta basadas en la evidencia y las intervenciones para mejorar los resultados del comportamiento para asegurar el éxito académico en todos los estudiantes.

Nevitt received the 2018 Merit Award from the PBISAz Achievement Awards.

At Nevitt Elementary, our students daily practice the motto “take care of myself, take care of others, and take care of this place.” It is typical to see students helping each other when in need, using positive language when talking about or to a peer, and showing compassion for their classmates.
