Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) are used to improve academic and behavioral outcomes, ensuring that all students have access to the most effective behavioral practices and interventions possible. PBIS provides a school wide framework for achieving these outcomes. PBIS is a decision making framework that guides selection, integration and implementation of the best evidence based behavioral practices and interventions for improving behavioral outcomes to ensure academic success in all students.  

 

Ward received the 2018 Merit Award from the PBISAz Achievement Awards.

In the Hallways – Indoor and Outdoor

Preparation

  • Be aware of doors opening in the yellow zones.

  • Hands to yourself, respecting people, property and artwork.
  • Hold open the door for others.
  • Dress in uniform code.

Integrity

  • Be trustworthy.
  • Go where you are expected to go quickly.

In the Restroom

Preparation

  • Ask to use the restroom before it’s an emergency.
  • Sign out and have hall pass.

  • Use inside voice in restroom.
  • Flush after use.
  • Wash your hands.
  • Respect the privacy of others.

  • Keep the area clean and paper off the floor.

In the Portable Computer Lab

  • Try to learn something new about using the computer everyday.

In the Library

Preparation

  • Know where you keep your library books.
  • Bring your library books back during class library visits.

  • Keep books in good care.

On the Playground and Field
