ASPIRE Coordinator Dr Gerald Taylor

The ASPIRE Academy at Connolly Middle School is delighted to welcome our new and returning students and their parents. ASPIRE offers gifted students exceptional academic rigor and a warm and nurturing learning environment that meets their unique academic, social, and emotional learning needs.  Students in our fast-paced and challenging curriculum are engaged and self-directed, and their learning becomes personal, relevant, and meaningful.

ASPIRE provides a small-school experience with large-school opportunities, including a wide range of electives and numerous before- and after-school clubs and athletic teams, including Student Council, Yearbook, Newspaper Club, Cross Country, Volleyball, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, and Basketball.  ASPIRE offers Project Based Learning (PBL) both within core classes and as electives, including Sustainability, Forensics, Theater, Math Explorations, and Electronics and Critical Thinking.  ASPIRE students participate in ASU’s CourtWorks Program, where they present a mock trial in the Federal Courthouse, LEGO Robotics, Tempe’s Geeks’ Night Out SciTech Festival, and Citizenship Counts, where they design and host a naturalization ceremony to be held at Connolly.
