The purpose of the Fees College Preparatory Middle School dress code is to promote a school learning environment that is respectful, safe and modest in order to allow all students to maximize their academic growth.

  • Solid Color
    • red, white, or light blue
  • Short or long sleeve
  • Collar, turtleneck, or mock turtleneck
  • Undershirts (showing or not) must be white

  • Long enough to cover your stomach/waist
    when arms are raised
  • Underwear may not be visible at any time

Not Permitted: Other colors, logos*, decorations, writing, etc. are not allowed (unless specifically approved
by the school)


  • Pants, shorts, capris, jumpers, skirts, and skorts
    of one solid color- Khaki/tan, navy, or black

Bottoms shall be worn as follows:
  • May not measure more than 3 inches above the knee
  • Must be of reasonable size and hemmed
  • "Underclothes" such as tights, compression shorts, etc. must be solid black

Not Permitted: Blue jeans, leggings, jeggings, sweats, baggy or sagging bottoms


  • All Outerwear must be one solid color.
  • Black Jeans are permitted
Outerwear shall be worn as follows:
  • In the fashion it was intended
  • Correct arm and chest direction
  • Not inside-out

Not Permitted: Graphics or logos* (unless specifically approved by the school)


  • Shoes/socks must be safe and appropriate
  • Tights/leggings must be black and accompany appropriate uniform bottoms
Not Permitted:
  • Flip-flops, shoes without back straps, slippers, high heels greater than 2 inches
  • Sock or shoe designs that are distracting or
    disruptive to the learning environment

    worn outside only

  • Any other headwear including baseball caps,
    bandanas, hairnets, etc.

  • Piercings other than ears
  • Jewelry that could create a safety hazard or be
    distracting or disruptive to the learning environment

  • Make-up or body fragrance that
    is distracting or disruptive to the
    learning environment

Not Permitted:
  • Backpacks containing graphics/logos that are deemed distracting or disruptive to the learning environment

  • A Fees College Preparatory Middle School issued
    lanyard and ID must be visible at the neckline at all times
  • Lost/damaged IDs can be replaced for $3 in the front office
  • Lost/damaged lanyards can be replaced for $1 in the front office
  • Lanyards and IDs can also be purchased using 50 Golden Tickets

  • Visible tattoos, body writing, and markings on exposed skin

Student Dress Down Day

Students may earn dress down passes throughout the year. On dress down days, student must adhere to the following rules:

  • Clothing is to be worn in undamaged condition.
  • Tops must have sleeves and fully cover student's midsection.
  • Undergarments may not show (pajamas ARE NOT allowed).
  • Length of all bottoms must not measure more than 3 inches above the top of the knee
  • Hair, makeup, jewelry, and footwear standards remain the same as with dress standard

Spirit Day

Each Friday students may wear blue denim (skirt, shirts, capris, jeans) as long as they are wearing a FCPMS spirit or college shirt. Students may also wear uniform bottoms with their spirit shirt.

PE Uniforms

PE uniforms are $15, cash only and the parents can purchase them tonight at Meet the Teacher or the student can purchase one from the PE teacher the first week of school.

School administrative staff and teachers have the authority to determine the appropriateness of any student's attire. Parents will be contacted in the case of a student's inappropriate dress and the discipline guidelines in the school/district handbook will be followed. In addition to this dress code, any and all student dress requirements already enforced by the Tempe Elementary School District must also be observed.
